The Town & Country Planning Organisation (TCPO) is the apex technical advisory body formally established through the merger of the Town Planning Organization (TPO), set up in 1955 to formulate Delhi’s first Master Plan, and the Central Regional and Urban Planning Organization (CRUPO). TCPO provides expert guidance on urban and regional planning, supports policy formulation, and monitors central sector schemes. It assists state governments, urban local bodies, and development authorities with planning strategies, GIS applications, and capacity building. TCPO plays a vital role in shaping India’s urban development landscape through research, training, and technical support .
